Mark's Blog

Well, there's nothing more important these days than a web presence, so here's mine. (Or at least one of them!)

I have been a reference librarian in Greensboro for 38 years, an Ultimate Frisbee player for almost 43 years, and a collector (of diverse sorts of things, including stamps, triceratopses (sp?), frisbees and books) for most of my life. And I have been a husband for over 12 incredibly happy years.

Home from (mostly) sunny CA !!

Well, Pam and I had a delightful time vacationing in California. The Stanford reunion was great, even for Pam who had worried that it might be boring.  heard lots of fascinating talks and presentations, saw lots of old friends, ate good food, etc.

Having a great time!!
[ This photo below shows me, needless to say, during my stay in France, back in 1968, not at the reunion! Unfortunately, my roommate there, from the class ahead of mine, couldn't make it, but this pic of me with his parents "back in the day". What I really remember most from that visit was the great, multi-course meal we had in a local restaurant!  ]

Visiting with my brother and his kids was fun, too. Seeing Daniel and Anna for the first time since our wedding over six years ago was exciting, seeing how much they had grown up. And our two days in the California wine country were quite delightful:  sunny weather, great food (again). beautiful scenery, and some pretty nice wines.  Our B & B in Sonoma, The Hidden Oak Inn, was sumptuous.
